This is the oldest museum in the region and it has a considerable collection of works of varying importance, including some canvases of notable value such as those by Antonello da Messina, Salvator Rosa and Battistello Caracciolo.
Appropriately, works by local artists are well represented, both in terms of importance and number: for example those of the 19th century artist Andrea Cefaly.
