Housed in the Santa Caterina cloisters in the town of Finale Ligure, this interesting museum offers numerous exhibit halls with interesting displays. Remains from the Paleolithic and Neolithic periods are on view; three special sections are dedicated to the metal ages, the Roman period and the Middle Ages; and a very interesting, introductive section presents the geological landscape of Finale Ligure with its various eras of composition and transformation.
Much space and attention has been given to the educational aspects of the exhibits. In addition, it should be mentioned that the museum is well-equipped for handicapped access.
