A part of the small but interesting museum of Cupra Marittima is dedicated to the study of the sanctuary of the goddess Cupra, whose existence is mentioned in some written sources, and whose debated worship has played an important part in the history of the town and the territory.
Before settlement by the Piceni the Cupreensi (during the period between the Bronze and Iron Ages) were important for their elements of habits and traditions. Numerous pieces are on display that were for common use or for worship. The exhibition layout and captions are helpful for visitors who are discovering for the first time this form of devotion and sacredness that was a part of the life of the ancient inhabitants of the area.
