On the evening of August 27th in Garibaldi square a great bonfire is lighted and upon which a figure is placed. With this ceremony the festival of the patron of Forte dei Marmi begins. On the 28th, this seaside resort town has its streets lined with stands selling all sorts of objects, curiosities and gastronomic offerings. The most important event of the festivities – a fireworks display – closes the celebration, with the pyrotechnics launched from the wharf and reflecting on the waves of the sea suggestively.
