This is the famous production area of Collio and of the Isonzo, near the northeastern boarder of Italy. Every year in these areas, various leaders of state are invited to the provincial festival of the grape, to drink the wine of peace together.
It is a beautiful land filled with history and memories.
Various trails start from these areas.Mount Quarin, a short and peaceful climb, brings you to the castle, from where, after a short stop and a pleasant view of the surroundings, you may descend into the vineyards toward the Plessiva Park.
You may follow other trails also, such as the one that follows the Rio Smerdar, the Cret Paradis, Limbano or Terre Rosse.
At last, on your way back, it is recommended that you stop for a nice glass of wine and a delicious “panino” with prosciutto from Cormos.
