The Farmhouse “La Ferraia” is situated on the border between the
Marche and
Umbria regions, in the heart of the Apennine Mountains. It is located half-way between
Gubbio and
Urbino, in the territory of the municipality of Cagli, and it spreads over an area of over 20 hectares.
The farmland is used for
cereal cultivations,
fruit trees and
small animal breeding.
The area is rich in woods, streams, and nature is uncontaminated. The farmhouse, completely restructured, can accomodate up to 29 persons in 10 bedrooms, all furnished in
“arte povera” style, and with independent bathroom. A wide lecture and conversation room can also be used for small meetings.
The old barn, turned into a restaurant room, can accommodate up to 70 guests. There you can taste the specialities of the
Marche and Umbria regions’ cuisine in a warm and comfortable room. The
wine-cellar is provided with the best wines produced in the regional farms.
A
swimming-pool with wide solarium is at the guests’ disposal, as well as the possibility of having relaxing walks and wandering in the woods and across the streams and the meadows, which are rich in wild fauna and the most varied plants. For lovers of history and art the towns of Cagli, Urbino and Gubbio are also worth a visit.
The
rooms have been created by completely remodelling the old sandstone
house. In winter, they are heated and in summer they remain cool due to
the setting and the type of construction. They all have en-suite
bathroom with shower and are furnished in ?poor art? style.
There
is a common sitting room available for guests where there is a tv,
small library and table games for times of relaxation or in case of bad
weather. The house is surrounded by an attractive, shady English-style
lawn; in season the
swimming pool and
solarium are available.
