
The farm is set among the
Chianti hills, surrounded by peace and quiet in this special geographical area rich in typically Tuscan flora and fauna yet near important historical and architectural towns such as
Florence 35 km,
Siena 20 km, the town of towers
San Gimignano 4 km, the birthplace of Boccaccio
Certaldo 3 km,
Volterra and its famous alabaster workshops 40 km, the town of
Poggibonsi which was mentioned in great literary works such as the Divine Comedy by Dante 2 km, and the
Tyrrhenian sea 75 km.
In addition to Florence, Siena and San Gimignano, it is possible to visit small medieval villages in the immediate vicinity, for example
Sant’Appiano with its
parish church,
Linari,
Barberino Val d’Elsa,
Poppiano castle,
“Strozza Volpe” castle,
Basilica of S.Lucchese at Poggibonsi, or the beautiful and recently restored
Fortezza Medicea with its famous
“Fonte delle Fate”, and more.
The nearest town (3 km) offers the following services: shopping centre, supermarkets, pub, cinema, sports facilities, train and bus stations, taxis, pharmacies and so on.
Il Boscone holiday house is composed of a partially refurbished main house where the owners live and which is open to guests and a smaller house which has also been refurbished. In addition to apartments, rooms furnished in
typical Tuscan style with private bathroom and independent entry are also available.
The houses are surrounded by a
large garden from which sweeping views can be had of the
valley and
flanking woods as well as the
vineyard, olives, meadows and woods belonging to the owners. We also have a
swimming pool (7 x 14 m) with
steps and a waterfall in communication with a
child’s pool (3 x 4 m) with
hydromassage; garden furniture, sun beds and barbecue are also available.
Upon request, guests can also have
breakfast, lunch and dinner including
typical regional dishes prepared with natural products from the farm: olive oil, wine, meat, salami, vegetables under oil, preserves, etc.
It is possible to visit the farm, taking long walks on the
woodland trails or
paths that crisscross the property,
enjoying the sight of our free-ranging animals: horses, Carmela the donkey, Peggy the sheep, and pigs, and if you’re lucky wildlife, too (deer, wild boar, hare, pheasant, porcupine, squirrel, hoopoe, woodpecker, etc…
a nature lover’s paradise!Parties and ceremonies can also be organised at the farm, making it a festive place.
